FHC Kids opens at 10:20am for children 6 months through 6th grade. Middle school and high school students are also welcome—check with us about current student programming. On the fifth Sunday of each month, we celebrate Family Sunday—everyone worships together.

Our Host Teams are on the front lines of that—creating an environment every Sunday where people feel genuinely welcomed and known.
It Started In a Dining Room
Freedom House Church began on April 11, 2003—a small Bible study in Pastor Paul’s mother’s dining room, with a handful of friends and family gathered around the Word.
From those early meetings, something remarkable grew. The congregation expanded through several locations, eventually landing in a 10,000-square-foot facility in Amherst—a building acquired in 2008 when a local businessman offered it to the church for only what was owed. The people of FHC still call it what it was: God’s favor.
In 2017, Pastor Paul and his wife Amy followed a new call to Nashville, where they founded Awakening Church. FHC continued under faithful leadership for seven years. Then, in March 2025, Pastor Paul and Amy resumed leadership of Freedom House—still based in Nashville, where Pastor Paul continues to lead Awakening Church, but traveling to Amherst as often as possible and staying closely connected with the FHC family through a dedicated team of local staff and volunteers.
More than two decades later, the story is still being written. And there’s room for you in it.
